These turkey pops are some of the hardest and most time consuming of all cake pops, but they are the cutest! Well...I'm torn between the turkey and witches for Halloween. They are both adorable. What do you think?
Anyway, obviously I used candy corn for the feathers. I like to use the regular ones instead of the caramel candy corn (has a brown end instead of yellow). Plus, it's hard to get the caramel candy corn, because it's only available in the fall, and you have to buy a mixed bag. The regular ones stand out more and are much more colorful.
The head is a chocolate covered almond, but I've used caramel squares before, which I prefer, because they also stand out better and are brighter against the chocolate candy coating. The nose and red thingy also stick better to the caramel square.
The beak is a mini candy coated chocolate chip, the red dangley thing (whatever you call it, lol) are jumbo heart sprinkles, and pretzels for the legs. Like I said they are time consuming, but worth it! They are also HUGE.
